What’s Your Pooch Thinking? by Caroline H. Dworin, Newsweek
" Rebecca Johnson, director of the Research Center for Human-Animal Interaction at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine, works to facilitate healthy relationships between humans and animals. She understands communication across species in somewhat different terms. She speaks of “reading signals effectively,” and remaining alert to subtle cues: tension in an animal’s body, a lowering of its head, its ears going back."

The Cove: Sundance Film Exposes Japanese Dolphin Slaughter in Grisly Footage by Clayton B. Cornell

The Cove"23,000 Dolphins are slaughtered each year in a hidden cove in Taiji, Japan. Each year, the Japanese government covered it up... The Cove exposes an atrocity of unimaginable brutality. The dolphin slaughter depicted here is committed yearly and without knowledge of the general Japanese public, even though they could be buying highly-toxic mercury-laden dolphin meat disguised as fish from their local supermarkets."

As you read about Kathy's inspiring interactions with her clients, you will agree with Linda Kohanov in her Foreword that “this book [is] one of the finest narratives on what horses have to teach people about life, love, power, and connection as we release them from their roles as beasts of burden and allow them to reclaim their true destiny as teachers, healers, and companions worthy of the deepest affection and respect.”

Now that he is used up and lame, no one wated him so he was lucky to be found by a rescuer . She doesn't have the right facility for him so we are looking for a place for him to be retired but loved. They do rescues at all times, but particularly in times of despair and crisis. Their organization is made up of volunteers with a mission to stop horses from being sent to slaughter or abuse.
