This Month’s Recommended Merlian News Articles:
Cheryl Shainmark reviews, “Astral City is a remarkable story of spiritual awakening and one man’s vision of the afterlife. Based on the novel “Nosso Lar” (Our Home) by medium Chico Xavier, this Brazilian adaptation remains faithful to the tale of Andre Luiz, a doctor who dies during routine surgery and becomes aware that life goes on after death. Andre’s prolonged journey through something that we could call Hell, and his redemption into a startling kind of Heaven, are what keep the viewer riveted.”
Wellbeing & Healing Coconut Oil & Ayurveda by Charlotte Jernigan Charlotte Jernigan writes, “Coconut oil is perhaps the most misunderstood fatty nutrient. Though, simplistically speaking, coconut oil is a saturated fat, it is important to distinguish coconut oil from the saturated fats that come from animal sources like meat and dairy products. Saturated and hydrogenated fats are solid at room temperature. An exception to this would be coconut oil which is solid at low room temperature because it is saturated with medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs). MCTs assist with the rapid and complete metabolism of other dietary fats. In a lifestyle that includes regular, moderate exercise, MCTs insure that fat is used as an energy fuel for our cells rather than being stored.”
Conscious Eating What Is Natto & How Do I Eat It? Various sources say, “Natto is a traditional Japanese food. It’s fermented soybeans rich in vegetable protein. It is a natural energy food that is high in protein, good source of dietary fiber, rich in vitamin K2 & B2, contains calcium & iron, gluten free, & contains no preservatives… Natto is commonly found in small plastic packages with soy sauce and mustard…”
Alex Warden writes, “This shift in awareness expresses itself as a deeper democratic understanding similar in nature to the change in perspective that occurred during the Enlightenment and the French Revolution. This deeper democratic understanding is still about gaining freedom from oppressive structures–but rather than being just a local change in consciousness, this shift is global and expresses itself differently in other parts of the world. Today, the issue in the US is corporate dictatorship, while the expression of the same thing in the Arab world is governmental dictatorship –both oppressive structures that serve to eliminate the power of the people.”
Spirituality The Warrior Code By Imre Vallyon Imre Vallyon teaches, “Nonâ€violence is the greatest virtue of a Warrior. Does this seem strange? A true Warrior lives in Peace with himself and in Peace with his neighbours. In fact, a true Warrior is totally selfâ€controlled. A true Warrior never goes on a rampage of destruction. The Skill of the Warrior is only for deserving ends: to protect the weak, to right wrongs, to uplift the downtrodden, and to protect Humanity from the forces of evil. Even towards the Enemy, the true Warrior is kind and does not seek unnecessary death and violence. The true Warrior is never cruel–not to people, nor to animals…”
Consciousness Synchronicity by Dr. Kirby Surprise Dr. Surprise says, “Synchronistic events (SE) are those uncanny coincidences in which the environment seems to be speaking directly to us through events. In my work as a psychologist, I have clients who report radio and television broadcasts, random events of all sorts, comment on what they are thinking as if something was reading their minds. Psychologists call this experience “Thought of Reference.” “
People Jim Garrison, Chairman & President of the State of the World Forum by Worldforum.org According to Worldforum.org, “There is perhaps no other organization in the world that convenes more diversity at more levels than does the State of the World Forum. At all its gatherings the Forum convenes a multiplicity of individuals, including Heads of State, Nobel Laureates, social analysts, grassroots activists, business executives, scientists, policy-makers, senior military officers, politicians, spiritual leaders, artists, academicians, and many others, ensuring gender parity among speakers and the full inclusion of youth. The Forum also covers the full spectrum of human concerns, from the scientifically secular to the spiritually profound; and from the most controversially political to the most personally transformative.”
Environmental Awareness ‘Space Hurricane’: Huge Solar Storm Is Pounding Earth Now by Denise Chow Denise Chow reports, “Yesterday’s solar flare set off an extremely fast-moving CME, Zheng said, and the associated radiation storm was the strongest since 2005. But the ejected cloud of plasma and charged particles was not directly aimed at Earth, and is hitting the planet at an angle instead. This glancing blow will likely lessen any impacts on Earth, she added.”
Mark Kinver explains, “Microscopic plastic debris from washing clothes is accumulating in the marine environment and could be entering the food chain, a study has warned. Researchers traced the “microplastic” back to synthetic clothes, which released up to 1,900 tiny fibres per garment every time they were washed. Earlier research showed plastic smaller than 1mm were being eaten by animals and getting into the food chain.”
Animal World Sea Lions Found Shot on Puget Sound, US Officials Say by BBC News BBC News reports, “Eight sea lions have been found shot dead in the US state of Washington in the past few weeks, wildlife officials have told a local TV station. The bodies of seven sea lions with bullet wounds were recently found on the Nisqually River, KING-TV reports… The Seal Sitters say the eighth dead animal was a California sea lion, a mature male. The species is protected under the US Marine Mammal Protection Act.”
