December 21st, 2012, a.k.a. the End Of Time – If you’re like me, you’ve been reading about and anticipating this day for many, many years, and now it’s finally here! So what exactly does the “End Of Time” mean? What are we supposed to expect?
Contrary to popular opinion, the Mayans never predicted that the world was ending. Instead, they predicted that we will simply start a new cycle or “wheel of time.” Mayan and Aztec oral traditions say that on December 21st, 2012 the “Wheel of the Fifth Sun” ends, and the “Wheel of the Sixth Sun” begins. According to their ancient teachings this means a huge transition for the universe, the earth, and those of us along for the ride. The earth’s vibration will get higher and faster and mankind will need to adapt to this if we are to flourish in this new time. The Mayan elders predicted that mankind will need to shift from being brain centered to being heart centered.
I believe it really comes down to opening our hearts — that is the key to the higher vibrations. There are many ways to open the heart, and I think most of us have been doing this already for many years, each in our own way. Some of us dance or do Qi Gong, others practice acts of compassion or volunteer their time for those who need it. Still others drum, build communities, hold a sacred space, or recycle and preserve the earth’s precious resources. Some teach our children, rescue animals, or garden, while others mediate conflicts or give their all to peacekeeping efforts.
I believe that these are the stuff of higher vibrations and that, in this period of great planetary and cosmological transition, these are the acts that will get us through this monumentous time as we usher in a new Wheel of Time.
