Review by Cheryl Shainmark
The Power of Peace In You is a amazing new guide to accessing your inner wisdom. From Marlise Karlin, the same author who developed the Simplicity of Stillness Method, this book goes beyond simple meditation to map out the road to inner peace, creativity, wisdom, and the resilience to overcome life’s trials and tribulations. The exercises and CD that come with the book will have you “up and running” in no time — tapped into that perfect, peaceful stillness!
Karlin outlines a variety of methods for accessing this new dimension of consciousness that, as she says, “Is becoming available to the masses now.” This is a different form of meditation — deeper, closer to a prayer state, offering unconditional love and subtle layers of wisdom. These methods are tools for conscious living, designed to help the reader access this overarching Energy Field that connects everything in the Universe. While some religious writings and seers have described this as a kind of holy state in the past, it is not a religious state per se, and the book makes clear, “No belief is necessary.”
In fact, Karlin includes much of the cutting edge scientific research that has been done to study this phenomenon, and cites studies and data from Bruce Lipton, William Tiller, Ervin Lazlo, Herbert Benson, Lynne McTaggart, and more. What the author has realized, and what is one of the critical aspects of this state is that it can be attained through sound resonance, and that is where the enclosed CD comes in — if you’ve ever despaired of reaching a true meditative peace, fear not, this CD will have you there in no time!
The important part is that once connected, you can overcome any old patterns, resistance, and beliefs that have been holding you back, and go on to develop the life that you want. More importantly, you can stop looking outside yourself for answers and begin to find them within immediately. There are fascinating anecdotes of those who have turned around their lives with these methods, but perhaps one of the most interesting is the author’s own tale. From her biography, Karlin makes it clear that she had her own deep issues and problems to overcome in the past, and how she turned things around and came to find this inner peace and knowing is an impressive part of the story. With The Power of Peace In You, this is definitely a case of the author “walking the talk.”
