The Diamond Color Meditation is a brilliant breakthrough in meditative therapy.  Don’t worry if you think that you can’t meditate – this is not one of those “empty your mind” exercises.  Think of this as energy therapy and the clever use of colors and symbols to focus on will get you good results.

Dr. John Diamond began his career as a psychiatrist and expanded his training in  holistic and alternative medicine so that he could treat “the totality of the sufferer.”  After years of clinical practice and research, he developed this program to treat the underlying anguish that he noticed was more fundamental than any disease, illness or pain with which the patient presented.  In conjunction with Professor Max Luscher, M.D., who developed the exact colors used in this book, the author has designed this system to overcome the anguish and bring about deep healing.

According to the author, colors have spirit and power, and meditating upon them can resolve old emotional pains.  As Dr. Diamond found in his practice, many of us try to heal or forget these old wounds by distracting ourselves with drinking too much, buying too much, or smiling and faking it.  After meditating on the colors and symbols in  The Diamond Color Meditation, patients were able to remove the anguish and open up more fully to life – to appreciate it “totally and gratefully.”

As Dr. Diamond points out, much of the angst of today comes from our constant search for identity and purpose, as we all ask the age-old questions: Who am I? Why  am I?  These are spiritual questions and Dr. Diamond feels that the answers lie in love, more specifically in Divine Mother Love.  Our purpose is to be loved by the Divine Mother, and to reciprocate that love.

His unique formulation for getting to this state of “Belovedness” are where the colors and meditations come in – they point you in the right direction.  Most importantly, the author recognizes that before you can feel a change you must be able to imagine a change.  Dr. Diamond’s talent is in how well he gets you to imagine that desired state.  Sometimes people don’t have very good memories of their mother figure in this life, but with the author’s help, we can imagine her at her highest, most loving and best intentioned state.  That’s the key, as most of us will grant that our mother’s had good intentions at least once in awhile!  Realizing that, and opening the door to feeling beloved is akin to a state of grace – this is deep healing at its best.

The results are amazing!  You may feel an immediate shift in the first reading/meditation, or a sense of the old wounds loosening and softening.  If you continue for several days, more good effects continue to roll in – the colors are by turns soothing, energizing and healing.  The special Luscher-Fuchsia is like taking a vitamin for the whole chakra system.  If you get no more than an increased sense of energy you will have done yourself an enormous favor, but my prediction is that you will get much more than that.  Following up with the additional information the author includes on specific acupressure points and homeopathic remedies may yield even greater results.

The “Belovedness” concept truly may be the antidote to the anguish and angst that we all carry to greater or lesser degrees.  Best of all, the meditations are as simple as can be, and yet, there is a real power to them.  Do yourself (and your soul!) a favor and check out The Diamond Color Meditation.
