Qigong- Bruce Frantzis: If aging means diminishing health and losing the energy of youth... how come millions of Chinese retain their youthful vigor and energy into their 60s, 70s and 80s?
Six thousand years ago in Northern China, a tribal people settled along the shores of the Yellow River. Their chieftains had unusual powers: they knew healing secrets of plants and animals, spoke with invisible entities, and the river waters seemed to bend to their will.
They were the first Taoists. Their practices were meditation, cultivation of the body, sacred ceremonies and magical arts. Among the refined techniques they used to nurture their health and relax their minds, there was Chi Gung (also known as Chi Kung or Qigong.)
Today millions of people of any age are learning those harmonious movements of such ancient origins, for their stress management, relaxation, natural healing, wellness and longevity properties. Chi Gung will make you more alive by developing your ‘chi’ or life energy. In fact the word chi in Chinese means the bridge between life & energy. Chi is the office of life and when you have more chi you feel more alive. Having more chi makes a person feel more predisposed towards joy, spontaneity, compassion.
The less chi you have the more numb and less alive you feel. When chi becomes stronger you feel more youthful and have greater functionality. The opposite is also true.
In the west we didn’t think there was such a thing as chi – we were too busy looking outside ourselves and so we didn’t develop the science & technology to cultivate it more.
Bruce Frantzis, Qigong Master, will illustrate to you the benefits & practice of Chi Gung.

Shamanism - Dr. Leslie Gray: Over tens of thousands of years, our ancient ancestors all over the world discovered how to maximize human abilities of mind and spirit for healing and problem-solving. The remarkable system of methods they developed is today known as “shamanism,” a term that comes from a Siberian tribal word for its practitioners: “shaman” (pronounced SHAH-mahn). Shamans are a type of medicine man or woman especially distinguished by the use of journeys to hidden worlds otherwise mainly known through myth, dream, and near-death experiences.
Dr. Leslie Gray, executive director and founder of the Woodfish Institute, is a Native American psychologist who has studied with medicine people and elders from various tribal backgrounds. She advocates (and embodies) a new vision of health care—the integration of ancient healing and modern medicine.
She has lectured at various universities including the University of California at Berkeley and the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. She consults with individuals and organizations on the practice of ecopsychology, and her work has been featured in such periodicals as East-West Journal and Re-Vision Journal, as well as in the book Ecopsychology: Restoring the Earth, Healing the Mind. Dr. Gray has served on the board of directors of the Association for Transpersonal Psychology, and is currently an Associate of the Milton Erickson Institute of the Bay Area.
Spirtual Healing - Eric Pearl: As a doctor, Dr. Eric Pearl ran a highly successful chiropractic practice for 12 years until one day in 1993 when patients began reporting that they felt his hands on them - even though he hadn’t physically touched them. All this occurred when Eric simply held his hands near them.
Eric Pearl, discovered that he had been blessed with an unusual “gift.” He suddenly became a healing vehicle of a different kind: a conduit through which healing energy seems to flow. Eric Pearl’s patients report the disappearance of cancers, AIDS, chronic fatigue syndrome, birth disfigurements, and deformities of bone, as well as regaining the use of limbs after complete spinal cord injuries.
Recognized internationally, Pearl’s healings have elicited great interest from top medical researchers worldwide, including one of the top hospitals in the United States, a world-renowned spinal cord injury center, a Level I trauma institute, and a major university medical school. In addition, Eric is the author of The Reconnection, has appeared on several nationally broadcasted shows, and his lectures are now offered worldwide.
Energy (Full Spectrum) Healing - Melinda Connor: Melinda is trained in drama therapy, massage, Spirit Releasement, Reiki, Quantum Touch and several additional types of energy work. She has an MA degree in Clinical Psychology and has a Holistic Healing practice in San Jose.
Her research focuses on Biofield therapies and she is mentored by Dr. Gary Schwartz, Director, the Center for Frontier Medicine in Biofield Science and the Director, Human Energy Systems Laboratory at U of A.
Her findings to date indicate that changes in extra low frequency, low amplitude magnetic fields can be correlated with the practice of energy healing. Melinda believes that the ability to do clear and empirical research on Energy Medicine is necessary toward developing a greater understanding of subtle energies. The ability of the Energy Healer to contain their energy system so that no healing is done in sham situations has been challenging. Methods of managing energy systems so that they can be more effectively utilized by the research community are explored.
