Shake Your Chakras
Once we feel balance we can let go of control. When we dance we allow ourselves to feel what off balance is like. This is the dance of life, falling and falling again. When we accept this pattern of falling and catching ourselves, then we are in accord with the natural pattern of life's ebb and flow. It is very freeing to let oneself go. There is abundant joy in being grounded and centered and in allowing ourselves to be vulnerable enough to fall and fall again, confident that we will find our equilibrium in the face of uncertainty.

Dance: The Hidden Language of the Soul
The Dance the Chakras concept is in the true spirit of the Kundalini Yoga and Tantric traditions where the bottom line is always what works.  Yoga means to join. Yoke. Tantra means to weave. Through these practices we can experience the dance of life and existence, past and present, and connect to the deep places within ourselves that we have no words to express.

Finding Your Inner Athlete
Destiny over a fate being our focus this month, we can apply this concept to our workouts as well. Rather then doing an exercise by mindlessly approximating a pose, flinging our limbs about any old way and hoping we will get all the benefits, we can set our intention and stay present to insure we reap the rewards by keeping an eye on certain alignment principles.

Kundalini Focused Stretch
When you are too busy for  an entire practice, or just don't feel pumped enough for your regular routine, it is a great time to work on the basics of a powerful practice:  concentration, alignment,  flexibility, and commitment. Whether you are a beginning or advanced yogi, runner, rock star, or raver, everyone needs to release the same major muscle groups, strengthen their core, and develop fierce focus for peak performance.

Raw Food & New Smoothy
A graceful temperament is a personality built on the bedrock of inner peace. Peace is not a political stance but a state of mind.  The saints and sages of the ages have told us that if we want to transform the world we should start by declaring peace within ourselves.

Neck and Throat Issues - June
Stress often causes our shoulders to creep up. We become like a turtle retreating into its shell. The shoulders need to be anchored down to support our neck gracefully. Sleeping on too firm pillows, and/or constantly bending our heads forward to peer at a computer or television screen, eventually stresses the neck.

Questions of the Month
Kundalini Yoga brings people along in a graceful and systematic manner and helps us to reconfigure ourselves along more powerful and subtle lines. According to many contemporary Masters this is a pre-requisite for successful living as we move into the new millennium. Picasso said, in effect, that the genius is the person who can do the average thing when everyone else is going crazy.  In order to be a "genius" in our own lives, we need strong nerves, a balanced glandular system and the ability to bring our minds under conscious control.

What Type Are You? Water & Fire
"Many of us who fight a constant battle with weight are what we term "water" people. This type conforms in many respects to the kapha dosha in the ancient Indian system of health, Auryveda...Fire people are restless and energetic. These types have more angular bodies and seemingly more efficient metabolisms.  They are usually more disciplined and crave movement."

Thoughts On Yoga & Relationships
The meaning of life is whatever we make sacred. Commitment is the cornerstone of sacredness. It seems to us that relationship is as much a spiritual path as life in a monastery because every day your ego gets tested and opportunities for growth abound.

Question of the Month: Can Yoga Alone Help with Weight Loss?
"People often equate weight loss with strenuous aerobic exercise only, and don't really understand how an ancient technique such as yoga can possibly yield results." Read more to find how yoga can really help you stay fit in 2006.
