The Great Mysteries: Believing, Knowing, & Proving

Growing up, I never thought twice about whether there was an afterlife, or if it was possible to see into the past or the future, or how one could see things and events at a remote distance. My mother was a psychic, as was her mother and her mother’s mother before her. I knew as a child that I had inherited the “second sight.” These things were an everyday experience in my family; I was aware of ghosts, had well documented prophetic dreams, and learned to remotely view people and places at a distance. As a result, when people asked me whether I believed in things such as life after death, the paranormal, distance healing, or the mind’s ability to affect matter, I would tell them, “I don’t believe it, I know it.”

It was only later that I started to wonder about the source of these phenomena, or to look for explanations. I knew that we were all capable of doing the things my family did and I began teaching classes in psychic development. It was in an effort to answer some of my student’s questions that I started reading the research from leading scientists, physicists, and medical doctors. I became familiar with the work of William A. Tiller , Russell Targ, Peter Russell, Robert Moss, Lynne McTaggart, and others. I learned that much of what I had experienced throughout my life could be explained or replicated, and that there existed controlled studies with measurable results. Finally, for every person who asked me, “Where’s your proof?” I could now point to robust research.

In my quest for answers, a few years ago I read Entangled Minds by Dean Radin , and then was fortunate enough to interview the author. Dr. Radin told me about new, marvelous studies being done, and about the organization IONS (Institute of Noetic Science) . Just recently I found out that he has taken another great step to advance the cause — it turns out that he, too, has been plagued by people asking him, “Where’s the proof?” often enough that he has compiled a list of the latest research.Topics covered include distance healing, intention experiments, telepathy and ESP, mediumship, precognition and more.

I believe that whether you are a believer, a knower, or a doubter you will find this list remarkable reading. Still, if I have learned anything over the years it is that “proof”can be a funny thing and that the real naysayers will refuse to believe no matter what they read or see. At the same time, since I and countless others are already having these experiences, it gives me great satisfaction to know there is scientific proof.

The Miracle of Castor Oil Packs by Merryn José

| by Merryn José

Merryn’s personal experience using castor oil packs for healing. ‘What I find most fascinating is that all parts of the castor plant are extremely poisonous to eat, but when the oil is extracted from the seed of the Ricinus communis plant, the poison remains in the seed, and it becomes “the oil that heals.”

The Power of Homeopathy

| by Merryn Jose

Recently, I was shocked to read an article by Dr. Mercola stating that the Federal Trade Commission was cracking down on this well-respected form of natural medicine….Several years ago I was feeling unwell, and couldn’t pinpoint the source. I was chronically tired, unable to sleep through the night, had poor digestion, and finally broke out with eczema on my face and neck. Nothing I did seemed to help. Then a dear friend of mine recommended I see George Vithoulkas, the renowned homeopathist who treated Krishnamurti. I knew that homeopathy treated health issues by using minute amounts of ingredients similar to what caused the problem – what practitioners call treating “like with like.”

How Clean Is Your Biofield? Recognizing and eliminating EMF in your environment

There has been a great deal of research in the last several years about the impact of electrical, cellular, microwave and other energies on the human body. Our electromagnetic fields or EMF, also known as our biofield, can be affected or disrupted by the electrical signals or radiation emited by such common devices as cell phones, computers and electrical lines. Detecting unwanted radiation and eliminating it has become a new focus for those concerned with their health.
