Increasingly, we know that you are what you eat, and that true health starts with the content and quality of that food — whether it’s organic, or overly sugared and processed, a “Superfood” or a raw diet, each affects the way you look and feel. One of my favorite beauty nutrition books is “Eating For Beauty” by David Wolfe – a raw food enthusiast. It is beautifully illustrated, and is laid out in an easy to read format. and certain minerals do for the body and which foods supply these nutrients.’

Asking the Big Questions

A dear friend of mine, Nick Borrell, says that when you ask the BIG questions, you open a window into the Universe. As he puts it, “It creates the opportunity for fresh air to flow in and for a fresh answer to emerge.” It invites the enormous energy of creativity to pour in, and you must be very careful to leave the window open long enough to get the answers you seek — you must be patient. Now, in the beginning of the New Year, is the time that we traditionally ask the big questions: what do we want in our lives? What do we want in our world?

Mindfulness is on the Rise from Goldie Hawn

Mindfulness Matters! For celebrities, for kids, and for you! In a recent article for AARP, Goldie Hawn discussed how mindfulness and meditation, (something she’s been practicing since the 70’s), have impacted her life. She writes: “In 2003, I established the Hawn Foundation to help children create greater brain health through mindfulness practices…. Through our MindUP program in schools, we’ve demonstrated that if students take two minutes for a brain break three times a day, optimism in the classroom goes up almost 80 percent. On the playground, aggression goes down about 30 percent.”
