The Diabetes & Alzheimer’s Link by Dr. Vijaya Nair

curcuminFirst, what is curcumin? Curcumin is a component of the spice tumeric, and can be found in typical Indian foods known as curries, or can be taken as a dietary supplement. Second, how does curcumin prevent the onset of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia? Research has shown that curcumin prevents the spread of amyloid protein plaques – thought to cause dementia – in the brain. Third, how I can get more curcumin in my diet? Curries, eaten regularly in Indian communities, contain tumeric and hence curcumin. Research has shown that these Indian communities have a surprisingly low incidence of Alzheimer’s. But research also suggests that the proper dose of curcumin to prevent dementia is over 100 g of curry power. This clinical dose may be hard to get through diet. JIVA Curcumin & Fermented Soy Plus and JIVA Fermented Soy & Curcumin Nutritional Beverage offer 500 mg of curcumin per serving. Taken twice a day on a regular basis, this level of curcumin could prevent the debilitating and demeaning illness of Alzheimer’s and dementia, plus contain the added health benefits of fermented soy.

The Diabetes & Alzheimer’s Link Dr. Vijaya NairDiabetes sufferers worry about such complications as heart disease, nerve damage and kidney failure. To add to this already too long list, now research is showing a possible link between diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease. Some studies show that just having high blood pressure may be enough to increase the chances of developing Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Vijaya Nair, founder of JIVA Supplements, has spent years of research finding support for the newly accepted theory that most diseases, such as diabetes and high blood pressure, have a root cause in common: chronic inflammation. The body creates an inflammatory response when it encounters toxins in our environment, anxiety, illnesses or other stressors. This inflammation then causes disease. JIVA’s nutritional supplements contain ingredients shown to regulate the body’s inflammatory response to stressors. To find out more, please visit www.jivasupplements.org. The Quantum Activist — Amit Goswami, PhD.: A film by Ri Stewart and Renee Slade

| by Cheryl Shainmark

Goswami guides us through his theories with humor and illustrative stories (math phobics will be reassured as there is no math at all) and leads us to the same conclusion that every great religion has been saying for centuries — that we are all connected. Once we realize that than global change becomes possible. As “The Quantum Activist” illuminates, when we realize that we are all one, then violence becomes unthinkable. If we are all connected to each other and to the earth, than stealing land or resources, or squandering them becomes impossible. We are only damaging ourselves when we damage the earth.

Missing Piece to Overeating; Why Diets Fail by Judith Orloff MD, author Emotional Freedom

| by Judith Orloff MD

“As a psychiatrist I know that there is more to overeating and obesity that meets the eye. One big reason that many diets fail is that traditional weight loss programs don’t factor in how we process subtle energy, what Chinese medicine terms life force or chi. Subtle energy penetrates and surrounds the body. Sensitive people who I call intuitive empaths unknowingly overeat in response to being overwhelmed by negative vibes. Empaths not only can sense energy around them, they absorb it into their bodies. If this is you, “Emotional Freedom” will teach you to center and protect yourself when the impulse to overeat hits.”
