Prayer by Jocelyn Graef: Part 11 in Great Awakening
Yes. We are wishing to welcome you. We are Li Chen. We would like to speak here on the power of prayer.
Prayer is essentially like your telephone to spirit. It is one method of speaking to God as well as those dear ones in spirit who perhaps have left the body, or those who serve you from spirit as your guides and guardian angels.
Prayer is instantly putting you in contact with spirit. Whether it is spirit around you or spirit within you is irrelevant. When you are speaking from your heart to spirit, you are in that same instant lovingly attended by spirit. When you are calling out to God, you are in that instant attended by the loving messengers of God in the form of your guides and teachers in spirit. You are also speaking to that part of deepest self where God abides and responds.
Many of you are using prayer to ask for help. We applaud this, as this is one of the powerful tools you have to access the divine. We have heard a few of you say that you have difficulty with prayer, for you feel this is begging and feel that God should be honored and not always looked to for solace or blessing.
We say, why not? Does it not honor God that His children would come to Him in times of great trouble? Does this not show that God is understood as the greatest resource available? Does this not acknowledge the power of God to soothe and heal and create miracles for those suffering? Oh, please do ask God for help. Beg with all your heart. The degree of emotional power, of intention, when you pray is most important. The more you are feeling the intent of the prayer, the more you are able to feel response as well as trigger a response.
Prayer is not just an outpouring to a source outside of you, but also a realigning within you. When you are praying with a deep and soul centered longing for something, you are at same time creating within the ability to partner with the end result.
Perhaps the answer to your prayer comes in a subtle way, or a blindingly clear way. Matters not. Point here is when you are “begging,” the degree of your longing will be matched by events in your life that will show you the way to your heart’s desire. Or the grace to accept otherwise.
Prayers are answered to the degree of highest good for each one involved. Prayers always serve the path of each one, and never interfere with their process or purpose.
Each time a being is asking God to be present in their life, it strengthens the presence of God in the world. When a prayer is answered in a recognizable way, it validates for people the existence of a God who interacts directly and personally in their lives.
What might be perceived by some as “begging” is truly an acknowledgment that you are not alone and are asking for help, knowing that divine service is ever available. This loving service is endlessly available, without condition.
Pray, then. Pray every hour, every day. Pray for wisdom and guidance. Pray to be used for a God’s work in the world Pray to be shown how. Pray to be directed to anyone and anything that will help fulfill your promise on this earth.
And then, when you are done with your plea, offer a prayer of gratitude, and know that you have been attended perfectly, according to your ability to respond and grow and be in your purpose more magnificently than before.
