Life Changing Meditation with Dr. Joe Dispenza

I’ve just come back from a weekend meditation workshop led by Dr. Joe Dispenza and his team. Dr. Joe is the author of Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself, and most recently, You are the Placebo. The workshop was promoted as completely life-changing and that you would sit down to the meditation as one person, and get up from it as a totally new person. No truer words were ever spoken! This was one of the most profound and empowering workshops I have ever attended.

The main goal of the workshop was to break up and let go of old belief systems that no longer serve and to rewire the brain to a new way of thinking. Dr. Joe was able to combine the instructions and the music so perfectly that I was transported and deeply enthralled in the most positive way. I was able to hold the process and the goal without my attention wandering off. Consequently, I had insight after insight about old patterns and negative habits that I needed to let go of.

Dr. Joe was clearly leading by example. As he explained the first morning, he had received a devasting spinal cord injury years before and then, against doctor’s predictions, recovered substantially in less than 12 weeks, using this process. Over the weekend we heard stories and saw brain scans that testified to the seemingly miraculous healings and spontaneous remissions that clients and workshop participants have effected.

I can’t speak highly enough about the quality of the presentations, or the amazing kindness and generousity that Dr. Joe and his staff displayed over the weekend. Everything about the event, from the sound sytem to the food, was top notch and really professional. In other words, if you’re interested in a real chance to improve your life and your meditation practice, check this out!

Memories of Charlotte

| by Merryn Jose

My mother-in-law Charlotte passed away a few weeks ago, at the ripe old age of 98. She had led a good, useful life and was a practical, strong minded, intelligent woman who was one of the first full time High School guidance counselors in New York City. Sometimes in life we are given an extra gift and that’s what I felt when I met Charlotte. From the very moment we met she was my ally, and throughout the years she proved this again and again, with her kindness and concern for my welfare…

My Holistic Map & Watkins Books by Merryn Jose

I had spent many hours and many days enjoying the atmosphere in Watkins Books when I lived in London. The new website offers a “Spiritual Map” of London, that anyone can contribute to. In that spirit, I would like to add to my sort of “Holistic Map” of what the internet has to offer: locally, throughout the U.S. and abroad.”

Jin Shin Jyutsu in New York

I was so impressed with the first treatment from Mitzi that I decided to see her on a regular basis. That was years ago, and since then I have seen a vast improvement in my vitality and health. Mitzi uniquely blends the practice of Jin Shin Jyutsu, the ancient art of balancing body, mind and spirit, into her work, from her twenty years of experience.

A Guiding Force

| by Merryn Jose

This month marks the 11th anniversary of my mother’s passing, and I find myself thinking about her a lot. It seems to be a summer of remembering: last month I was reminded of my father’s birthday on the Fourth of July , and now I’m thinking of my other parent. She, more than anyone, had a tremendous influence on me that continues to this day. My mother was a psychic from a long line of gifted seers, and she taught me how to use my own psychic gift as well.

Celebrating Independence Day

| by Merryn

Growing up in England, the Fourth of July was not a national holiday and there were no fireworks. Still, as a child, it was a special day for me as it was my father’s birthday. I remember summer breaks from school, long walks with my father across the Devonshire moors, and coming back to the house for a special birthday tea with scones and clotted cream made by my Grandmother.

My 100 Day Gong

| by Merryn Jose

Just recently I completed what is known in Qi Gong as a 100 day “gong” or practice of doing the same exercise, every day without fail. I had been doing Qi Gong off and on for a year or two, but a few months ago I decided that if I was going to gain the benefits of this practice, I really needed to do it every day. I had been reading and studying the online courses… and I finally I decided to make the commitment to a 100 day practice.

Mind, Meditation, & Science

I’m in the middle of reading “The Mind’s Own Physician – A Scientific Dialogue with the Dalai Lama on the Healing Power of Meditation,” and I can’t recommend it strongly enough…. Having been a regular meditator for years, I’ve watched with great interest as the scientific community has studied, and ultimately endorsed, this age old ancient healing practice.
