Using Qi Gong to Fight Covid 19

You did everything right: you quarantined, wiped down your groceries, wore a mask, stayed out of restaurants and did your best to reduce risk; and yet, you still contracted Covid. What do you do now? Well, in addition to everything your doctor recommends, you might want to add Qi Gong to your regimen to speed up your recovery. One of my favorite Qi Gong masters, is Lee Holden at www.holdenqigong.com.  He studied with Master Mantak Chia, an early teacher of mine. Master Holden recently wrote about some interesting research highlighting the benefits of using Qi Gong in the fight against Covid.

Lee Holden reported that Qi Gong is being prescribed to COVID-19 patients in China right now, and that the early results are extremely promising: In China, doctors asked 20 patients to practice 12-minute Qi Gong videos at home as a part of their COVID-19 recovery plan. According to the study, “All of the participants who completed the exercises reported a significant decrease in shortness of breath and increased physical ability and quality of life…”

This is what Albert Yeung, an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School with a major in epidemiology said about Qi Gong’s role in recovering from COVID-19 (and similar viruses):  “…Qi Gong is one form of mind-body exercise that helps to decrease your stress reaction, become more relaxed… When you practice Qi Gong you undertake slow, deep breathing which helps to regulate the autonomic nervous system … so this helps a lot with our recuperation and self-healing.”

Of course you don’t have to wait until you get sick to get the benefits of practicing Qi Gong. In fact, there is a strong body of research indicating that practicing Qi Gong regularly strengthens the immune system and may help to lessen the risk, or ameliorate the effects of many diseases.

GAIN Resilience and Reduce Stress with this 3 Minute Daily Mindfulness Practice

| by Greg Hammer, MD

Two potent inducers of stress are (1) uncertainty about the future and (2) a world that does not comport with our wants and needs. The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic brings both conditions and rampant, world-wide stress. Stress causes increases in adrenaline and cortisol in our bodies, increasing our heart rate, blood pressure, and blood sugar. Acute stress may be adaptive, enabling us, for example, to escape a predator by focusing our attention and directing blood flow to our muscles so we can run faster. When stress lasts for days, weeks, and even months, however, it is maladaptive.

Is There a Place for Geomancy Today? by Tim Walter

ID, 'post_img', true)?>

Geomancy is a bizarre and highly contentious approach to mental wellness and spiritual harmony. ‘Geomancy’ isn’t even the correct term for the work that people such as myself do. I said as much in one of my recent YouTube videos www.youtube.com/c/KnightsRose . There isn’t really a label that is ‘correct’ for this practice. We use ‘Geomancy’ as that is the closest label we have and most people recognise what is being identified with such a label. Given that modern Geomancy has no official structure, and what each geomancer provides their clients is different, is there really a place for Geomancy in our modern world?

To a Boy Who Found Out It Wasn’t Santa Who Brought the Presents by Robert Moss

I remembered a conversation in which I suggested that the original Santa was a shaman of the Sami, a reindeer-herding people of Lapland, reputed to have the power to call up the winds and fly through the air, and that the reason his coat is red is that it was the flayed skin of a reindeer. I have seen Sami drums with images of a shaman flying through the three tiers of the shamanic cosmos on a sleigh pulled by reindeer. But while there is a rich ethnography on Sami shamanism, I could think of no source that would be suitable for a young boy. So I took on the assignment of writing my own version of the first Santa, addressed to a boy in danger of losing his belief in Christmas magic.

The Spirit of Christmas by Annamaria Hemingway

| by Annamaria Hemingway

All the rituals involved at Christmas and the image of the tree sparkling with light is a mythological celebration that gives rise to a form of living psychic energy, which manifests from the ancient symbolism of the light. So, as we gather with our families and friends, and exchange gifts around the Christmas tree, we have the opportunity to reflect and rekindle the magical childhood awareness within ourselves of the true spirit of Christmas. For as the old year comes to a close, and a new year heralds unbound possibilities for growth and celebration of life, we are reminded of the birth that brought “tidings of great joy” and the promise of the everlasting life of the soul.

Yoga Science Teaches Us How to Transform Energy by Leonard Perlmutter

You learned in grade school science class that energy can appear in either the potential or kinetic form. The electricity in the wiring of your home is available for any use you choose. When you turn a light switch to the “on” position, energy appears in the form of light. This is the kinetic state because the energy is being used or expended. However, when you turn the light switch to the “off” position, the energy remains in the potential state–ready to be used at the flick of a switch.
