This Month’s Recommended Merlian News Articles:

Environmental Awareness Kevin Costner May Hold Key To Oil Spill Cleanup by Louis Sahagun, Los Angeles Times “Costner has invested 15 years and about $24 million in a novel way of sifting oil spills that he began working on while making his own maritime film, “Waterworld,” released in 1995…Two decades later, BP and the U.S. Coast Guard plan to test six of his massive, stainless steel centrifugal oil separators next week. Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser welcomed the effort, even as he and Louisiana officials blasted the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for delays in approving an emergency plan to build sand “islands” to protect the bayous of his parish.”

Consciousness The Ancient Solfeggio Frequencies: Excerpts by Various Authors “These original sound frequencies were apparently used in Ancient Gregorian Chants, such as the great hymn to St. John the Baptist, along with others that church authorities say were lost centuries ago…Each of the six Solfeggio frequencies correspond to, not only a note on the tonal scale, but to a cycle per second Hz frequency number, and to a specific color, and, ultimately, to a particular chakra in the body.”

Spirituality

The Revolution that the Divine Mother is Preparing by Andrew Harvey ” The message we are being sent by history can be summed up in four words: Transform or die out… Teilhard de Chardin wrote, “Humanity is being taken to the point where it will have to choose between suicide or adoration.” I have no doubt that we are now at that point. Human survival depends on whether we are brave enough to face the full desolation of what we have done to our psyches and the planet, and wise and humble enough to turn to the divine insight inside us to learn what we need to go forward. This is not an apocalyptic scenario–not a scenario at all, in fact. It is fact. “

Yoga Laughter Yoga with Dr. Madan Kataria

“Laughter Yoga is a revolutionary idea — simple and profound. An exercise routine, it is sweeping the world and is a complete wellbeing workout. The brainchild of Dr. Madan Kataria, a Physician from Mumbai, India, launched the first Laughter Club at a Park on March 13, 1995, with merely a handful of persons. Today, it has become a worldwide phenomenon with more than 6000 Social Laughter Clubs in about 60 countries. “

Books Crash: When UFO’s Fall From The Sky by Kevin D. Randle, PhD “For over 30 years one of the foremost experts on UFOs, a decorated combat veteran and retired Lieutenant Colonel whose assistance is sought by government, news media and scientists, Kevin D. Randle, Ph.D. has written a new book, Crash: When UFOs Fall From the Sky, A History of Famous Incidents, Conspiracies, and Cover‐ups. With about 100 books to his credit, including science fiction and historical fiction, and hundreds of magazine articles, Randle is best known for his works about UFOs and the Roswell story. He has lectured throughout the U.S. and Europe, and has appeared on hundreds of radio programs and TV documentaries and specials.”

Books Twelve By Twelve: A One-Room Cabin Off the Grid and Beyond the American Dream by William Powers “In these pages, Powers not only explores this small patch of community but draws on his international experiences with other pockets of resistance. This engrossing tale of Powers’s struggle for a meaningful life with a smaller footprint proposes a paradigm shift to an elusive “Soft World” with clues to personal happiness and global healing.”

Meditation Seeking Pleasure, Avoiding Pain by Matthew Rutkowski “Everything happens for a reason. The stress, discomfort and suffering in life all try to call out to us to look at our conditions, our lives in a different way. It is up to us to either heed that call, or ignore it. We cannot control the rise and fall of emotions, but we can learn to moderate the up and down of the emotional roller coaster by learning to develop our awareness and by deepening our breath.”

Wellbeing & Healing NYWRAC Training on Alternative Healing by Jack M. Freedman “According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), self-help groups are considered alternative forms of healing. They are completely peer-facilitated. In other words, everybody in the room is on the same, level, regardless of where somebody is in their recovery. This is commonly considered to be one of the best methods for mental health recovery….Some of these alternative healing methods have reached the mainstream, such as yoga, acupuncture, and the aforementioned self-help groups. Others are breaking through to the mainstream.”

Hale Clinic

www.haleclinic.com

The Hale Clinic was established in 1987 and officially opened by H.R.H. The Prince of Wales in 1988. The Clinic was founded by Teresa Hale whose aim is to combine and integrate the principles of conventional and complementary medicine, on the basis that no one system has the whole answer to every medical problem. Great emphasis is placed on preventative medicine as a way of maintaining good health generally, and after treatment. There are over60 practitioners based at the Hale Clinic in London. Several are medical physicians and many are multi-disciplinary. Of the complementary medical therapies practiced at the clinic, some are over 3,000 years old and others have developed in the last 50 years. Although they differ considerably in the way they treat illness, they all view the practice of complementary medicine as helping the individual organism achieve its natural harmony and balance, thereby making it much less susceptible to illness and disease.
