Space Creatures by Barbara Weisberg

| review by Cheryl Shainmark

Space Creatures, by Barbara Weisberg, is an enchanting addition to children’s literature. Ms. Weisberg, author of three previous children’s books, has perfectly captured the whimsy of a child’s view of the world — in this case, the role of being an “Earthling” on this wonderful planet. Part science and part a study in self-awareness, Space Creatures tells a story of exploring the world, our Earth, and also introduces the idea of being part of a larger whole — the grandness of the Cosmos and our place in it.

Going Beyond Our Genes: Bruce Lipton and the Study of Epigenetics

I first became interested in Bruce Lipton when I saw one of his broadcasts on Conscious TV. I found his lectures on Biology and Belief, and the power we have to affect our genes and DNA, to be absolutely fascinating. The idea that we can “switch off” a gene, or the predispostion to a disease fits with everything I know about the mind-body connection, and everything I believe to be true about the importance of mind over matter.

Getting to the Heart of the Matter with Jin Shin Jyutsu by Mitzi Adams

Getting to the heart of the matter in your everyday life is actually doable. Imagine being able to send energy to the heart via your pinky finger, to promote heart healthy changes. Seems too simple and outrageous, right? Well, it can be done! In fact, that little phalange sitting on the end of your hand, can be a huge helper in times of need. The life force in the body is activated through energy. This energy can be activated by the use of Jin Shin Jyutsu®, an ancient Japanese healing art form utilizing the fingers, toes, and what are called, “safety energy locks,” in the body, to stimulate the flow of vital energy.

The Story That Made Ho’Oponopono Famous by Veerle Wauters

| by Veerle Wauters

From 1984 to 1987 Dr. Hew Len worked as a psychologist at Hawaii State Hospital in the psychiatric ward where heavily disturbed, criminal patients were living (serious crimes committed by psychopaths, schizophrenics, psychotics). When Dr. Hew Len began working there, the atmosphere was anything but pleasant. The patients were very aggressive (daily attacks between patients). Most patients were therefore put in seclusion. Many others were shackled….In short: it was a place of hell on earth…he talked to people in his own easygoing way and enjoyed his time there. And all that time he practiced the ancient Hawaiian healing method of Ho’oponopono in the back of his head…. When Dr. Hew Len in 1987 left, the department was closed due to so few patients…Most appeared to be cured and retook their place in society…”
